countdown: our wedding is in 4 days! our programs were a major pain in the butt. we WERE going to just print them out on regular paper, but then we ended up getting these program kits from michael's, just b/c we were there and they were right in front of us. but of course that meant we had to figure out how to get our design onto the paper. we spent 3 hours at kinko's saturday night trying to get them done, since we only have an inkjet printer and thought it'd be easier to photocopy them. the word template we used for the programs sucked, so we couldn't get the margins to work out right. it also turns out that kinko's machines couldn't photocopy onto our inner paper b/c it's smaller than the standard 8.5" x 11" paper! oh, the rollers also kept leaving marks all over the outer paper. we also had to feed the sheets in one by one, b/c trying to do 2 at a time either jammed the machine, or left even worse black streaks! on top of that, once we finally got them all done and i'd gone through and tied bows on all of them, the basket they were in left brown marks on them! i went through and 'cleaned' each one. boy oh boy, they were such a pain. the DIY stuff is hard work! i can't imagine how i would've managed if we'd DIY'ed our invitations too! as a side note, when we addressed our invitations, the first silver pen we had smeared. a little alcohol swab took off all the writing perfectly and didn't leave any blemishes. that saved us maybe 20 envelopes that we couldn't afford to lose! we tried that trick w/ the programs when they got dirty from the basket, but it didn't work out quite as well. :(
