we started what ppl call a swear jar. each swear word = $1. it's actually more his swear jar b/c he's the only one who has to put a buck in every time he swears. (i offered to count my swear words as a refund for him, but he actually declined. *gasp*) the proceeds are going towards my new jewelery fund. hahaha! i'm serious. initially we were going to have the money fund smthg for both of us, but then really, what would be the point of that? like if we say that every time he swears, he puts in a buck towards a brand new TV... well, then motivation to not swear goes all out the door. this swear jar thing will be interesting. the first day i got $6 towards a new sparkly... the second day i got $5... now it's slowing down. i guess he's learning? well, we'll see what happens when football season starts up. heh.

we dropped by my in-laws' place this weekend, and while we were there we saw that they'd gotten new passports. we were going through the stamps on the old ones, looking at all the places they'd gone... and that's when i realized that their old ones hadn't even expired yet! they had to get new ones b/c they'd run out of space!

i want my passport to be like that -- bursting w/ stamps documenting where i've been. they go on vacation all the time. lots of long weekend trips, but also several long trips a year too. just looking at all the places they've been was almost unreal. several trips to korea of course... cambodia... italy... france... chile... germany... thailand... vietnam... egypt... switzerland... on and on. i totally want us to travel the world together like that!!!

everyone asks, "so how does it feel to be married?" to be perfectly honest, it feels the same! i mean, it's great that we're 'official' and all, and we had a lot of fun at the wedding and on the honeymoon of course, but overall, our relnshp is the same. we got married after 4.5 years. we'd already bought a home, lived together for a year, and basically gotten used to each other's quirks. it's just that now we're legally bound together.

at first i felt bad saying that being married didn't feel different. i've realized though, that that's not a bad thing. it's actually a GOOD thing, b/c it means that we knew each other well before we got married. it wasn't like we got married and then found out all sorts of things about each other. we fell in love and got married w/ our eyes wide open... and we're still the same ppl we were before, only now we're husband and wife.

apparently one of our professional photographs from our wedding day will be in hour magazine's detroit metro bride. (ok excuse the weird underlining, but even though i've flipped through their issues countless times during my wedding planning stages, i'm not 100% sure what they call themselves other than metro bride.) our photographer submitted it and it was accepted, so she called today to make sure the hometowns we listed in our original contract were correct.

she didn't tell us which picture it was, and we haven't seen our pictures anyway so we wouldn't be able to visualize it even if she'd told us, but it's kinda cool. i hope it's not an unflattering picture, but i assume it's not, b/c then it probably wouldn't have been selected. she also told us that she's blowing up one of our other pictures to post in her studio for when potential clients come. that's neat. i can't wait until we get to design our album w/ her! :)
